BBQ Boot Camp Coming to Raleigh

Although here in North Carolina we all know that barbecue is a noun, not a verb, we must accept that there are exceptions. And not everyone who loves barbecue knows how to bbq. So, if you are one of those people, here’s a great opportunity to learn from the experts.

North Carolina State University and the North Carolina Meat Processors Association are teaming up for a BBQ Boot Camp. Professors, chefs, restaurateurs and barbecue experts will be on hand to share the art, science and history of North Carolina barbecue.

This two-day event is scheduled for May 15-16. These action packed days feature breakout sessions such as “Thrill of the Grill,” “The Science of Cooking Q” and “History of Beer & BBQ.”

This special event, sponsored by the N.C. Pork Council, Neese’s Country Sausage, Carolina Packers, Mays Meats Foodservice, Larry’s Sausage Company and the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association, is limited to 50 participants.
